Research Profile
The Didactics Research Unit is concerned with selected issues and objectives of university language teaching, focusing in particular on the productive interaction of the actors involved in the development process. A regular needs assessment among language teachers and students, connects tangible language teaching and learning experiences and leads to the development of methodological-didactic approaches and comprehensive solutions. Due to the increase of interdisciplinary research objectives, there is a need for a research-oriented starting point that is reflected in language didactic action research projects. Challenging teaching conditions cannot be overcome with disciplinary segmentation, but primarily in collaboration with other disciplines.
To meet this desideratum, the aim of the Didactics Research Section is, on the one hand, to closely observe, document and analyze foreign language teaching and learning processes and, on the other hand, to train and professionalize teachers. In light of both focus areas, action research projects by teachers and students should provide an opportunity to learn from one another, think connectively, discuss personal didactic research aims and defend one’s own research objectives in an interdisciplinary environment.
